Gimp Try out

So! I took Themagicialdeath's advice and tired out gimp.Since it is free and I haven't the slightest idea where my photoshop dvds are I gave it try.First off trying to find a tutorial on gimp telling how to just color a lineart WITHOUT making the the lines disappear was a pain in the ass.For some reason everyone and their mother felt the need to tell you how to ink your lineart in gimp without actually saying how to color with out coloring over the lines.:frustrated: Since the image I was trying it out on was already inked and ready to go this was very frustrating. And most of the art I draw I ink before it's scanned because inking in photoshop/gimp is a pain in the ass.So these kind of tutorials are unless to me anyway.I may try inking on the computer again one day but not any time soon probably.I was about ready to throw in the towel when I finally found a tutorial that told me how to keep my lines.Change the mode of your color layers to multiply.I felt stupid when I read this.
:wtf: Though I know I shouldn't because I have never used gimp before. But my thing is why was this soo hard for everybody else to mention?!I probably sent about over an hour looking for this information!Well...........I guess it doesn't matter now....I the info and I can finally go on with my life.Anyways,I shall be putting up the picture I used as soon as I finish writing this. The picture I did not draw.I still don't have any of my pictures on my computer so I borrowed a picture from one of the Angelic Pretty coloring books. Some reason, since it's a pic from a coloring book I feel better about using that instead of stealing lineart from an artist on here.
:hmm:
